The design
Hand-drawn blue botanicals with winding folk-art vines on a light ground, rendered in a classic block-print style with an even, lively rhythm. The blue does the storytelling and the light ground keeps the pages turning, so the pattern stays lively without crowding. At a glance the vines settle into a steady beat, and the hand-drawn variation up close is the whole pleasure. It wears daylight like it was made under it.

Style notes
Folk-art lineage, carried lightly. It belongs with painted pine, blue-and-white ceramics, striped cotton, and pewter that has dulled agreeably. In a dining nook it makes the table look set even when it is not, and in a bedroom it feels like a well-kept tradition. Kitchens get the heirloom effect without the inheritance paperwork.
