Capri Catwalk is a retro fashion wallpaper, illustrated fifties figures in striped sheaths, polka dot swimsuits and red bows posing across a soft cream ground. It is a fashion plate come to life, and it never stops being fun.
The design
Each figure is painted in a few quick strokes, black hair, red lips, a striped dress or a dotted swimsuit, with the loose confidence of a fashion illustration. They stand and turn at easy intervals across the cream so the wall reads as a parade. Daylight keeps the cream bright. Lamplight warms it to paper.
Works best in
Dressing rooms, powder rooms, home bars and bedrooms. It makes getting dressed feel like an event and a hallway feel like a runway.
Style notes
Teak, chrome and white lacquer. Trim in a soft white keeps it light, a black trim makes it graphic. Add a lit mirror, a velvet stool and a brass rail of good hangers. Red is already in the wall, so echo it once.
