The design

Deep navy concentric rectangles on a warm coral ground at generous scale. The freehand lines loosen the geometry; the contrast does the rest. The navy lines advance and the coral field radiates behind them, so the contrast hums without vibrating. At a distance the rectangles stack into bold architecture, and up close the freehand wobble gives the whole system a pulse. Bright daylight turns the coral up a notch, and by lamplight the navy takes over and the room goes lounge.
