Periwinkle Daisy is a layered floral wallpaper of oversized daisies in periwinkle and violet, petals radiating from vivid orange centers, stacked so densely that the flowers seem to sit at several different depths at once.

The design

Each bloom has long tapering petals that lighten to white at the tips and deepen to violet at the base. Behind the front layer, more daisies fade back into a dark ground, some reduced to little more than a silhouette with a dark disc at the center. That depth stacking is what creates the slight optical shimmer when you move past the wall. Orange centers are the only warm element and they anchor the whole composition.

Works best in

Bedrooms, powder rooms, kids rooms and a home office. Optical patterns work in rooms where the furniture is simple, since complicated shapes fight the illusion.

Style notes

Teak or white lacquer with chrome. Bedding in white or a flat periwinkle, nothing patterned. One orange accent picks up the flower centers. Trim in white or a deep violet. This pattern is best on a single wall rather than all four, where the depth effect becomes more than most people want to sleep in front of.
