Riviera Club is a retro swimmer wallpaper with a warmer cast than its sibling. The same vintage figures on cream, this time with deeper tans and more teal and red in the trunks, giving the whole wall a sunnier temperature.
The design
Flat mid century illustration with confident outlines and minimal shading. The trunks run through mint stripes, red and white, navy and black, so the eye finds a different color every few figures. Skin tones vary from pale to deeply bronzed, which adds contrast the paler version does not have. Poses alternate between front facing, profile and three quarter, so the arrangement never settles into rows.
Works best in
Bathrooms, powder rooms, bars and a kids room. Pale grounds with scattered figures keep a small windowless room feeling light rather than closed in.
Style notes
Teak, chrome or brushed brass, and a simple white basin. Towels in mint, red or plain white. A vintage travel poster works on the facing wall. Trim in white. If there is a window, leave it uncovered. This pattern wants daylight, and the tans look best in it.
