Sky Bombshell is a retro pinup wallpaper, silhouettes in cornflower blue striking their poses across a pale sky ground. It has the cool of a fifties poolside and the humour of a good bar.

The design

The silhouettes are flat and clean, posed like the classic pinups with heels, waves and a thin white line to pick out a strap or a seam. The pale sky ground keeps the blue breezy rather than loud, and the figures read as graphic shapes before they read as girls. Daylight makes it crisp. Lamplight softens it to denim.

Works best in

Home bars, media rooms, powder rooms and dens. It makes a basement feel like a club and a powder room feel like a cocktail hour.

Style notes

Walnut, chrome and leather. Trim in a deep navy makes it sharp, white trim keeps it airy. Add a leather sofa, a chrome lamp and a record player. Red is the accent, in one object only.
