Somebody bottled a 1970s kitchen morning and papered a wall with it. Sunny Side spreads mustard sunflowers and coral daisies across soft cream, teal leaves keeping the bouquet from floating away. Cheerful without trying too hard. The retro trick nobody has improved on.

The design

Retro wildflowers (warm sunflowers, coral daisies, teal foliage, and fine trailing vines) on a soft cream ground, drawn with easy mid-century charm and a friendly scale. The cream ground keeps the bouquet floating and the room bright, while the mustard blooms come forward first and the teal foliage steadies everything behind them. It reads cheerful at a glance and hand-drawn on inspection, in that order. Late light turns the cream toward butter, which suits everyone involved.

Style notes
