Coimbra Rose is the brightest tile wallpaper in this collection. Magenta and rose medallions sit on point over cream with the same diagonal banding, and the color is hot enough to carry a small room on its own.

The design

Petals radiate from each center in a range of pinks, from a pale blush at the tips to a strong magenta toward the middle. The acanthus ring around them goes deeper still. Diagonal ribbons in rose divide the cream field, with a small cream and red flower at each crossing. The palette is entirely warm, which gives the geometry an energy the blue version does not have.

Works best in

Powder rooms, bedrooms, dressing rooms and a laundry. Hot color in a small room is a decision, and the rooms nobody spends hours in are the right place to make it.

Style notes

Cream or white cabinetry, brass, and a white stone counter. Towels in cream or a deep red. A dark wood vanity stops the pink from going sweet, and a black frame on the mirror does the same. Trim in cream. Warm light suits it. Anything cool turns the magenta chalky.
