The design

A dense vintage toile of layered roses and foliage in teal and coral, with rich detail and an all-over garden effect. The coral roses sit proud of the teal foliage, which knits the ground closed behind them, so the wall reads as one continuous garden with no beginning you can point to. From a distance it behaves like a rich tonal damask, and up close it turns into reading material. Candlelight and dinner parties are its natural climate.
