The design

A traditional Victorian damask in tonal greys, its ornamental repeat reading as quiet texture rather than statement. Neutral enough to layer, detailed enough to matter. Tone-on-tone grey means the pattern surfaces and recedes as the light crosses it, more shadowplay than statement. Cool daylight turns it silvery, and warm bulbs nudge it toward dove. Up close the ornament rewards inspection, and from the hallway it simply makes the wall look better dressed than the others.
