Juniper Chintz is an English country chintz wallpaper, trees and blooms in every shade of green scattered across a pale cream ground. A garden in full leaf, with the flowers playing second to the foliage.
The design
Large lobed blooms in soft green sit beside smaller sprays and full round trees in moss, apple and juniper green, spaced across the cream with the generous rhythm of a real chintz. With no second colour to chase, the eye rests. The trees carry the deepest green and the sprays the lightest, so the wall has depth without a second colour. Daylight makes it fresh. Lamplight makes it mossy and deep.
Works best in
Studies, bedrooms, dining rooms and sunrooms. It is the chintz for a calm room, the one where you read.
Style notes
Oak, rattan and antique brass. Trim in a soft olive makes one quiet wall, cream trim keeps it crisp. Add linen, a wool rug and plants with big leaves. Pink is the one surprising accent here, so use it once.
