The design
Buffalo in sunglasses roaming a dark charcoal ground, drawn with a bold, playful hand. Deep neutrals ground the humor for grown-up rooms. From the doorway it reads as a dignified dark neutral with gentle movement. It takes a second look before the sunglasses land, which is exactly the pacing good deadpan requires. The charcoal ground keeps evening light soft, and the herd looks best after sundown, as herds do.
Works best in
Man caves, kids' rooms, bathrooms, western nurseries, and home bars where the herd has a tab.
Style notes
Western rustic with a straight face and a punchline, in that order. Pair it with worn saddle leather, dark-stained pine, hammered iron, and a wool blanket in a serious plaid. Behind a home bar it sets the tone for the whole tab, and in a home office it keeps meetings honest. The buffalo have seen things and decline to discuss them.
