Peach Arbor is a soft floral wallpaper on a blush ground, with coral blooms and teal foliage arranged in loose upright sprays. It is the lightest pattern in this group and the easiest to live with.

The design

Small coral and rose flowers cluster along stems that rise like little trees, with teal and slate leaves filling in around them. The whole thing is worked in a washed style with soft edges, so nothing has a hard outline. The blush ground shows through everywhere and keeps the pattern airy. In daylight it reads almost as a watercolor. Under lamplight the coral warms up considerably.

Works best in

Sunrooms, bedrooms, nurseries and powder rooms. Pale grounds bounce light around, which suits rooms that need to feel larger than they are.

Style notes

Fruitwood or painted furniture in cream, with aged brass or a soft gold. Linen in white, flax or the palest teal. Rattan and cane work well. White trim is fine here, since the ground is already pale. Sheer curtains rather than heavy drapes. A few real plants continue the idea without adding pattern.
