For one week a year, Kyoto forgets to be subtle. Sakura Blush is a pink cherry blossom wallpaper that stretches that week indefinitely: airy branches of soft pink blossom crossing a refined pink ground in the chinoiserie manner, graceful, tonal and permanently in season. It gives a room the hush of a garden at first light.

The design

Cherry blossom branches in soft pink over a tonal pink ground, composed with vintage chinoiserie grace. Airy structure and calm, drifting movement. The blossoms sit only a breath forward of the ground, so the branches read as movement first and flowers second. Across a room the wall softens into a single quiet pink. Up close the branches have the patience of old silk painting, and morning light treats it accordingly.

Style notes

The gentlest branch of the chinoiserie tradition, pruned for modern rooms. It leans toward dark cherry or black lacquer furniture, blush linen, pale stone and champagne metals. Deeper plum accents give the pink some gravity. In a dressing area it flatters every mirror, and in a bedroom it keeps the blossoms overhead without a single fallen petal.
