Moonlight has a pattern, and it looks like this. Sterling Gothic traces vintage scrollwork in silver over deep black, all Gothic elegance and cool shine. Dramatic in the way of old libraries and good opera capes. Dark, yes; gloomy, never.

The design

Vintage damask scrollwork in silver tones on a black ground. Ornate, high-shine detail carried on classic Gothic structure. The silver sits proud of the black and picks up whatever light the room offers, so the wall glints rather than glows. From afar it reads as formal damask, and up close the silverwork turns sharper and stranger, in the best Gothic manner. By day it behaves, and after dark the pattern seems to lean closer.

Style notes

Gothic revival with an opera schedule. Give it ebonized wood, polished chrome, smoked glass, and velvet in aubergine or black. Black trim completes the cloak, silver-framed art repeats the shine.
