Damask has survived every design purge since the Renaissance, which tells you something about good structure. Windsor Damask carries the tradition in rich blue: a stately Victorian motif with depth and symmetry, formal enough to impress and settled enough to relax around.

The design

A classic Victorian damask in rich blues, with ornate symmetrical motifs at a stately scale. Deep color, traditional bones, surprisingly easy company. The tonal blues keep the formality supple rather than stiff, the motifs reading almost architectural from the far side of the table. Up close the ornament rewards study like good molding. By evening the blues deepen toward ink and the room follows.

Style notes

The taproot is the English country house, confident in its own furniture. Cherry wood, aged leather, pewter, and cream wainscoting meet it as equals, and brass library lamps warm it nicely.
