The design

Monochrome lion portraits in top hats, silvered gray and charcoal with soft ash texture. Quiet severity, gallery calm. The charcoal detail surfaces out of the ash ground slowly, like a portrait developing. From the doorway it presents as tailored pattern, and only up close does the top hat introduce itself. Cool daylight sharpens the silver cast, while lamplight softens the whole court into velvet.
