The design

A deep black ground carries golden currents that swirl like calm water at night, and the otters float through them with medals of pure charm. The gold does remarkable work here, tracing whiskers and waves so the wall shimmers gently as light moves across it. From a distance it reads as a luxurious abstract in black and gold. The otters reveal themselves at conversation range, which is where they do the most damage.

Works best in

A bathroom, naturally, where the theme earns a knowing smile. Also bedrooms, studies, powder rooms, and any space that wants glamour with warmth underneath.

Style notes
