The design

Charcoal and black interlace in soft vintage swirls while the rabbits sit upright among them, ears tall, expressions dignified. Warm brown notes keep the darkness from going cold. At a distance the pattern reads as an elegant scrollwork damask. Come closer and the court appears. The wall holds its composure in bright daylight and turns properly gothic by candlelight, which feels exactly right.

Works best in

A bedroom with presence, a study, a powder room, a dressing room, or an entry hall that announces the house has opinions.

Style notes

Dark academia by way of Victorian portraiture. It pairs beautifully with dark stained wood, antiqued mirrors, and brass sconces. Deep green or oxblood velvet completes the mood. Keep lighting warm and low where you want the drama, and the rabbits will handle the rest.
