A candy shop drew up blueprints. Sweetheart Stripe frames trails of purple hearts inside looping lilac lines, with a fresh mint stripe running down the middle to keep the sugar in check. Bright, orderly, and cheerful enough to make bedtime negotiations slightly harder.
The design
Vertical lilac loops framing rows of purple hearts, with a mint-green stripe at center, all on a soft white ground. Light, sweet, and neatly rhythmic. The lilac loops give the vertical lines a skipping rhythm, and the mint stripe cools the palette just enough to keep it from tasting like frosting. From the doorway it reads as candy stripe, and the hearts arrive as a surprise at hug distance.
Works best in
Nurseries, kids' bedrooms, playrooms, homework nooks, and any crib wall with a regular audience.
Style notes
Sweetshop graphics with a tidy Scandinavian backbone. It pairs with white-painted beds, pale birch, lavender bedding, and a mint lamp that ties the room up with a bow. Clean white trim keeps the sugar level legal. In a playroom it referees the color scheme, and beside a crib it gives the nightly audience something to study.
