The design

Rich teal sweeps through charcoal grounds in paisley curls, and perched among them the parrots hold court in their finery. The gold threads catch daylight first, giving the wall a lit-from-within quality by afternoon. At a distance the pattern reads as a classic paisley damask. Up close the birds appear, mid-anecdote. The charcoal base keeps all that color composed rather than loud.
