The design
Jewel-tone peonies in reds, plums and ambers with deep green foliage on a dark ground. Saturated, romantic and richly balanced. Warmth rises in layers: the reds and ambers step forward while the plums sink into the dark ground, giving the wall the depth of a still life. Across the room it reads as rich, low-lit color, and up close each bloom holds its own like a small commissioned painting.

Style notes
Dutch flower painting is the obvious ancestor, and this wears the inheritance lightly. Pair it with dark wood, aged gold, marble and velvet in plum or moss.
