Nightfall Peony is a painterly floral wallpaper where a white peony opens across violet and teal, its petals worked in visible strokes. This is a pattern about paint as much as about flowers.

The design

The central bloom is built from broad loose strokes of white, blush and cream that never quite resolve into a clean edge. Behind it the ground moves between violet, deep teal and plum, more like a wet canvas than a flat color. Flecks of coral and gold sit across the surface where the brush has skipped. Up close it is nearly abstract. From across the room the flowers snap into focus.
