Grand, dark, and entirely sincere about it. Requiem sets lush peonies in deep inky shading, a vintage floral composed like a final movement: full blooms, heavy shadow, and the sort of romance that doesn't need to smile to convince you.
The design
Lush vintage peonies rendered in deep, inky shading over a dark ground. Full-bodied blooms with somber, romantic depth. The dark ground absorbs the edges of each bloom, so the flowers seem to surface slowly rather than sit on top. From a distance the wall reads nearly solid until your eyes adjust and the composition emerges, bloom by bloom. Daylight keeps it stately, and the dimmer the hour, the better the performance.

Bedrooms, dining rooms, entryways, music rooms, and romantics of the old school.
Style notes
Late Romantic drama, fully scored. Mahogany, deep velvet, aged gold, and candlelight all keep up with it without breaking stride. Dining rooms gain a sense of occasion, bedrooms gain intrigue, and a music room finally gets a backdrop that takes the repertoire seriously. Not a pattern for people who apologize for their taste.
