A hedgehog in a flowered top hat and brocade blue coat, entirely sure of herself. Thistle Crown blends charcoal, blue gray, and soft cream with layered botanicals, a storybook portrait grown up and gone moody. Whimsy in evening wear.

The design

Hedgehog portraits in blossom-trimmed hats and blue brocade, with botanicals over charcoal and blue gray. Soft spines, sharp style. The cream blossoms and pale spines glow against the charcoal, so each portrait carries its own soft spotlight. The blue gray works between the two, holding the botanicals together and keeping the darkness genteel rather than grim. Daylight favors the blossoms, and evening hands the wall back to the brocade.

Style notes
