The design

Hand-drawn black ribbons and bows in a delicate lattice over white, softening to a light grey impression at a distance. Fine lines, formal rhythm. Give it a little distance and the lattice softens into a pale grey trellis, and the bows only introduce themselves as you approach. The fine linework keeps the wall airy, so the room stays bright even with all that black in play. In daylight it reads crisp, and in low evening light the grey warms almost to dove.
