Violet Peony crowds the frame. Violet, plum and blush peonies fill this painterly wallpaper almost edge to edge on a midnight blue ground, with barely a gap between blooms.
The design
Several flowers share the surface at once, some fully open with visible stamens, others turned away and reduced to shape and shadow. The brushwork stays loose throughout, with petals built from a few confident strokes rather than fine detail. Midnight blue shows through only in the spaces between, which makes the arrangement feel like an armful of flowers rather than a repeating motif. Warm centers in apricot keep the cool palette from going cold.
Works best in
Living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and entryways. Dense floral patterns give a plain rectangular room the visual interest its architecture does not provide.
Style notes
Black or walnut furniture with brass, and upholstery in plum, cream or a deep teal. Velvet suits this pattern better than linen. One large mirror rather than a gallery of small frames.
