On a ground of deep black, the forest floor is thriving: fungi in warm cream, taupe, rust, and sage, hand-drawn with storybook care. Woodland Cottage runs moodier than cottagecore usually dares, and is better for it. Natural wood and brass make excellent neighbors.

The design

Hand-drawn mushrooms in cream, taupe, rust, and sage on a deep black ground. Detailed vintage botanical work with storybook warmth. The rust and sage keep the dark ground lively while the cream caps carry the light across the wall. The long view is a rich botanical field with warm flecks, and the storybook detail pays out the nearer you stand. Low light is where it earns its keep.

Kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, entryways, reading nooks, and cottages of both the literal and spiritual kind.

Style notes

Cottagecore takes the night shift here, and the hours suit it. Copper pots, open pine shelving, sage-green paint, and checked curtains gather round it happily.
