Crimson Quatrefoil is a leaded glass wallpaper in red. Crimson petals held in bronze came, amber jewels at the junctions, and enough heat in the palette to change how a room feels the moment you walk in.
The design
The petals run from a bright scarlet at their tips down to a deep oxblood at the base, each one streaked the way genuine flashed glass is. Bronze leading holds them in a four petal arrangement repeated across the whole field. Amber squares at the crossings pick up the warmth rather than contrasting with it. Because red advances visually, this version feels closer and denser than the cooler colorways.
Works best in
Bars, powder rooms, dining rooms and a media room. Red walls raise the temperature of a room, which is an asset in a space built for the evening.
Style notes
Dark walnut or black cabinetry, antique brass, and a marble or soapstone counter. Glassware in clear crystal, nothing colored. Textiles in black, bronze or cream. Trim in near black. A dimmer is worth installing, since at full brightness the red is a lot and at half it is exactly right.
