Flax Linen is a linen look wallpaper in pale flax and oatmeal, the fine crosshatch of a well washed cloth spread across a whole wall. It is the softest neutral in the collection and the easiest to live with.
The design
The weave is small and even, warp and weft crossing in two close tones so the wall reads as one gentle oatmeal with a faint grain running through it. Nothing repeats, nothing jumps out. In daylight it is pale and airy. Under a warm lamp it turns the colour of fresh bread crust. It makes everything near it look softer.
Works best in
Living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries and hallways. It warms a white room and calms a room full of pattern.
Style notes
Almost anything works with it, which is the point. Bleached oak, painted furniture and polished nickel keep it fresh, while walnut and brass turn it cosy. Trim in a warm white is the safe choice, and a dusty blue trim is the brave one. Add a striped cushion and a wool throw. Let the furniture carry the colour.
