Glen Check is a menswear plaid wallpaper in grey, cream and camel, houndstooth blocks and fine guncheck panes woven into the Prince of Wales check of a good suit. It dresses a room the way a tailor dresses a client.

The design

Small houndstooth blocks alternate with blocks of finer check, and a single camel line crosses the whole thing at wide intervals to tie it together. From across the room the wall reads as a soft mid grey with a faint grid. Up close every tooth of the houndstooth is sharp. Lamplight warms the grey to taupe and lifts the camel.

Works best in

Living rooms, media rooms, mudrooms and kids rooms with grown up taste. It makes a room feel dressed on purpose.

Style notes

Walnut, dark leather and aged brass are the natural partners. Trim in a deep charcoal makes the check read as fabric stretched between dark frames, while a cream trim keeps it light. Add a tweed cushion, a tartan throw in small doses and a brass picture light. It likes books, whisky and a fire.

Order with confidence

Glen Check is an original WALLPLICITY design, built as a seamless repeat so the check lines up across the whole wall the way it would on a bolt of cloth, in peel and stick or traditional wallpaper. Samples available.
