Orchard Stripe is a woven multi stripe wallpaper in rust, olive, cocoa and ochre on cream, stripes of changing widths running down the wall like the selvedge of a country blanket. It brings the colours of late September into a room all year.
The design
Wide rust bands, slim olive lines and warm ochre stripes sit at uneven spacings across a cream ground, and every stripe carries the diagonal grain of woven cloth. The sequence settles into a rhythm without ever looking mechanical. Morning light lifts the cream and ochre. Evening light brings the rust and cocoa forward and the wall glows like a hearth.
Works best in
Dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms and sunrooms. It suits farmhouse rooms, cabins and any kitchen with a big table.
Style notes
Oak, copper and black iron are the natural partners. Trim in a warm white keeps the stripes fresh, while an olive trim pulls the greens forward and settles the whole room. Add a wool blanket, a jute rug and a bowl of apples. It is at its best in a room where people eat.
