Nightfall, choreographed. Palm Noir is a black and white art deco wallpaper that raises crisp white deco fans off a deep charcoal ground, each arc pulling the eye upward like a well timed spotlight. Black and white this rhythmic sets the tempo, and every entrance starts keeping time.
The design
Art Deco fan motifs in crisp white sweeping upward over deep charcoal. Bold two tone curves in a tall, rhythmic climb. Each fan pulls the eye upward, so ceilings borrow a little height they never paid for. The two tone scheme reads instantly from across a room, and the curves keep it from ever feeling severe. Up close the arcs are clean and exact, which is where the elegance lives. Under warm bulbs the charcoal softens toward espresso and the white mellows to bone.
Works best in
Dining rooms, entries, bar corners, dramatic bedrooms, and powder rooms that dress for dinner.
Style notes
Gatsby era geometry, tuned rather than loud. Pair it with black marble, chrome or polished nickel, mirrored trays, and one unapologetic pendant light.
