Plum Halo is an art deco circle lattice wallpaper in blush pink on mottled plum, fine rings overlapping in an endless chain across a deep velvet ground. It gives a reading nook the glamour of a jewel box.
The design
Each ring crosses its neighbours at four points, so the wall fills with petals and lenses of plum framed in blush, and a tiny pink dot sits at the heart of every one. The plum ground carries a soft cloudy mottle like crushed velvet. From across the room the wall is a rich wine with a shimmer of pink. Lamplight makes the rings glow.
Works best in
Reading nooks, media rooms, home offices and sunrooms that lean evening. It suits a corner meant for a glass of something.
Style notes
Walnut, smoked glass and polished brass are its partners. Trim in a deep plum lets the lattice run to the ceiling, while a blush trim is a quiet surprise. Add velvet in moss green, a brass floor lamp and a mirror in a round frame. It is a dark wall with a lot of light in it.
