Sage Ticking is a woven stripe wallpaper built from cream, sage and misty blue bands, the kind of pattern that makes a room feel finished without asking for attention.

The design

The stripes vary in width and weight, some broad and washed, others narrow with a fine corded edge. Between them run thin lines of small squares that read like stitching across the width. The colors stay soft throughout, sage sliding toward gray in places and warming toward flax in others. From a distance it is simply a calm vertical rhythm. Closer in, the variation is what keeps it interesting.

Works best in

Kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms and a bedroom that wants quiet. Vertical stripes make a low ceiling read taller, which is useful in cottages and older houses.

Style notes

Pale oak, painted cabinetry in cream or sage, and brushed nickel. Linen in white or flax. This is one of the few patterns that takes white trim well, since the ground is already cream. Open shelving with plain white dishes suits it. Natural light flatters it most, so keep window treatments light.
