Spruce Weave is a woven stripe wallpaper in deep spruce teal, ink and cream, and the cream is what makes it. Without those pale bands the wall would go flat. With them it has real rhythm.

The design

Teal and near black stripes alternate with warm cream and taupe, several of them carrying a corded or ribbed structure that reads clearly at close range. The teal shifts between blue and green depending on the light. Widths vary enough that the eye keeps moving instead of settling into a march. It is the most graphic stripe in this group.

Works best in

Dining rooms, powder rooms, home offices and bedrooms. The contrast is high enough to carry a whole room and calm enough to sit behind a table full of people.

Style notes

Dark stained oak or walnut, brass or blackened steel, and rush seating. Linen in cream, never bright white. A cream or taupe trim picks up the pale bands and stops the dark from closing in. Ceramics in cream and teal reinforce it without adding pattern. Dimmable warm light lets the teal come forward at night.
