Wheat Sisal is a woven look wallpaper in wheat and honey, a fine basket weave that reads like the sisal rug you wish you could hang on the wall. It brings warmth and a little grain to a room that is all smooth surfaces.
The design
Tiny over and under crossings cover the whole surface in an even weave, each square of the basket a shade lighter or darker than the next. From the doorway the wall is a single warm wheat. Up close it has the honest depth of natural fibre. Side light brings the weave forward, soft light melts it away.
Works best in
Bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and entryways. It makes white furniture look crisp and dark furniture look rich.
Style notes
Pale oak, cane and antique brass sit easily here. Trim in a soft putty keeps the whole wall mellow, while a black trim gives it a tailored edge. Layer in linen, a chunky knit and one leather chair. This is a wall for a room that gets used, not just looked at.
